rapid wireframe of new local guide app for various platforms
overview: find a flexible solution to distribute ‘local guide’ information to tourists
challenge: prepare a unique device that could substitute for tour books or guided tours
solution: unique hardware devices are outdated technology with high ongoing capital costs. mobile technology allows a more nimble business model wherein low-cost api development can lead to rapid and dynamic deployment of applications with a high profit margin. this approach would facilitate funding through third parties (e.g. through advertisments, coupon promotions, etc.), decreasing consumer cost and increasing market penetration.
strategic partnering with a tour guide publisher would leverage our unique information design and user interface by accessing an extensive repository of relevant local data.
future: pitch this idea to client, showing the facility of cross-device deployment and the impact of an intuitive ux design of platforms ranging from mobile to computer.

rapid prototype of new google maps layer, eats
overview: proposed a new layer, eats, for google
maps that displays real-time information from cafes
challenge: find a way to illustrate menu choices (vegan/kosher/etc) and foot
traffic for cafes on the google campus in an integrated, intuitive, map-based format
solution: design map icon with radial indicators of foot traffic, hovering over
the icon reveals a graphical representation of menu choices, with expansion
to actual menu
future: developing a content management system for commercial expansion of the eats concept to restaurants beyond the google campus, seamless integration with google checkout to increase utility, mobile stand-alone application development, foot trafficking indicator development, api development for expansion of multiple point of
sale systems, use mathematical modeling to derive estimated wait times for orders, integration of near field communication technology
